4 out of 5 stars Great reference book for your bookshelf   January 2, 2000

This book gives great examples for writing 40 different kinds of letters ranging from Thank you letters to Sympathy letters to Resumes and more. You can use their sections on recommended words, phrases, sentences paragraphs or sample letters. I found the personal correspondence chapters to be of assistance but the business oriented letters would be a great reference as well.

This is not what I expected or wanted. The book is written for business senarios with very few suggestions of a personal nature. The description of the book does not indicate that it is mainly for business use.

This is a very easy to read and easy to apply stratagies listed in the book. I liked every chapter having phrases, sentences, paragraphs and sample letter suggestions. I thought the phrases were most helpful. I haven't found phrases in other books of this type. I recommend it to everyone, from average housewife on up.

I have been able to use this book many times in both my job and in my undergraduate and graduate studies. It provides a cohesive format to help lay your thoughts on paper, and just about anything you write comes out with praise. I would reccommend this book to anyone entering or already in the workforce and/or school.

I enjoyed this book immensely because my formal supervisor has the book. I was very interested to get and to see what I can get out from it. It really help me learned how to write letters, memos, and reports at any situation without seaches high words that I can impress people. The langauge of words, phases, and sentences is clear and to the point. You can even learned basic part of grammar at appendenix section. Now I can write without having a mental block. I can definitely use this book for government projects and administrative assignments. Thanks for your help.
