Helpful to the amateur trader May 29, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
In a day and age where one can easily and inexpensively manage a portfolio and trade on the stock market, this book provides helpful insights into the difference between investing and speculating. I hope consequently to be more prudent in the choice of my investments. In particular there is strong warning against the speculative type of investment in companies that are full of hopes but short on a solid track record.
Significant in this is Buffets avoidance of technology stocks.
As brilliant as the man himself. December 12, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The perfect holiday gift. Buffett's nuggets of wisdom are unsurpassed. I loved this book because every page offers a gem of advice that only the master could come up with. Quite often his wit left me in stitches. Buffett is a national treasure. This is by far one of the best books I've read on him because it so deftly packages his ideas in a breezy, compact form. A great, fast read!

The book consisted of a number of short anecdotes and observations. If you looking for a quick read, big picture perspective and a common sense approach this is a good guide.
EXCELLENT! A MUST READ- OVER AND OVER!!! February 6, 2007 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Thank you to the authors of this book! The Buffet common sense/patience/brilliance is a gift that is shared in this book for us who are willing to apply it!
Good words of wisdom if you are already familiar with Buffett's investing style May 15, 2007 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book should not be your introduction to Warren Buffett's investing methods. For that I recommend "The New Buffettology" and "How to Pick Stocks Like Warren Buffett". However, for Buffett fans who already know how to pick great stocks at great prices, these words of wisdom will help you keep your eye on the ball.
I was saddened when I found out that the narrator passed away days before this audio book was published.
