Beneficial for Both Children and Parents January 12, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book is a good reminder for both parents and children to watch what they say. I really enjoyed its message and the story, as did my child.

the kids love this book and it is very helpful to remind them. I find myself quoting it and the kids never tire of it and seems to sink in to them. highly recomend all of this series.

We bought this book for my son when he was 3 1/2 and he loved it. Good illustrations and story.
Great Start to Teach Children To Use Words May 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great book to teach children that hands are not for hitting but rather helping. Another book that should be read by every parent and teacher of children 3-12 is Bully-Proofing Children: A Practical, Hands-On Guide to Stop Bullying.Parents and teachers can learn to create nurturing environments where children can get along;help children to express anger and use words to resolve conflict;teach social skills including friendship.... It should be on the shelf of every home and classroom.
Excellent! July 13, 2007 My son loves this book! I can't wait to buy the other books in the series.
I purchased this book, among others, because I was told that my 4 year old son was teasing at preschool. Not only is the book excellent, but simply saying the title when I feel my son is acting unkind often snaps him out of it. I often use the other titles in the series the same way. ("Jimmy, hands are not for hitting", "Feet are not for kicking", etc.)and even though we haven't read the other books, it has the same effect...he seems to snap out of it and apologizes.
I highly recommend!
