Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
For courses in Medical Terminology. Keying Interest Unlocking Medical Terminology serves as a key to discovering a new language, in a fun, eye-catching, yet scientifically precise way. The book is designed to be used as a text to support lectures, or as an independent student workbook. The flexibility of its application is made possible by the book's text-like format combined with its self-guided, exercise-driven learning program. Wingerd uses a stair-step approach that mirrors the way that many people learn. Instead of assuming you will absorb volumes of information in one step, this book presents topics in smaller pieces. Self-quizzes give you the opportunity to master the information before you build upon it in the next section. This approach allows you to work at your own pace and ensures success.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Really like this book!   December 16, 2008
This is a really good book, recommended by my college, it is what they are currently using...and it has everything I need, plus CD and website information you can go to. Great purchase! Highly recommend! Amazon had it to me on time!

2 out of 5 stars Very, very, basic... but good if you need a step-by-step guide through unfamiliar territory.   September 7, 2008
I guess I just move through textbooks like this much faster than "the average," but I found it to be an oversimplified, repetitious style of writing. If you have trouble with memorization, or you confuse similar terms/concepts, then this book is good, as it will drill each word root/suffix/prefix/anatomical term into your subconscious until you're speaking them in your sleep. But you'll be pronouncing them correctly, as the pronunciation guides included on the CD that is packaged with the book can be very helpful (unlike the phonetic spellings provided in the text). For an introductory course text in a very basic subject, it's not bad.
