Product Description
This recording offers a guided development towards a state of deep relaxation and calm. It will provide a means of unlocking and freeing habitual muscular tension and pacifying the autonomic nervous system. After instructions as to the appropriate position and situation in which to listen to the tape are given, you will be encouraged to slow down your breathing mechanism and allow yourself the time to release any tightness or tension in the body. You will then be guided through a progressive relaxation procedure, until you drift peacefully into deeper and deeper relaxation. Finally you will be brought gradually back to a state of wakefulness, rested and refreshed.

No nonsense, pure relaxation June 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'd been looking for a while for a good relaxation CD, but all I seemed to find were discs that competed to see which had the trendiest gimmick; these irritated me and had the opposite effect to that intended. This CD sets out to put you into a state of deep relaxation, and succeeds splendidly. Hugh Fraser's voice is calming in itself, but the progression is perfectly judged to release the tension from every part of the body - and subsequently, the mind. On the first couple of listens I couldn't quite grasp the idea of a warm, relaxing wave flowing through my body - though I still benefited from them - but relaxation is a skill which, now that I can evoke the wave instantly, seems effortless. Other, less effective CDs had put me off sound effects and music, but the gentle sounds of the tide and the soft, unobtrusive music on this one are perfectly judged to complement Mr Fraser's voice. I've found that if I listen to this CD before exercising, my muscles are more supple. Listening to it after exercise helps me recover more quickly and sleep better at night. Mostly I listen to it to increase my energy, my concentration and my quality of life.
